My story
Why I Teach This Way
When I was a girl, I loved sport. I played football with my brother and I was happiest outdoors. But a label about my body followed me through school and college, and it hurt my confidence for years.
Later, I tried to get fit the way everyone else seemed to, mainly by running. I hated it. I would quit within days, again and again. In time, I understood why. The reason I wanted to change was not really mine. I was doing something I disliked, and I was copying someone else’s journey.

Before fitness, I was a Montessori teacher, known for being patient, kind and sensitive. I worried those qualities would make me a poor coach in an industry built on “no pain, no gain”. It turned out the other way round. The women who came to me did not need to be pushed harder. Life had pushed them enough. They wanted someone who would meet them where they were. So that is what I do.
My own journey has never been a straight line either. When I turned 30, my body stopped responding the way it used to. My reports were all clear, so I stopped making excuses. I looked at my habits and followed exactly what I had been telling my clients all along. Later, after my wedding and a move to a new city, my routine fell apart again. I came back without crash dieting, because by then I understood my body instead of punishing it.
That is where the Bend Not Break Method comes from
“Nourish first, move in a way you enjoy and never punish yourself.”
It is not just theory. It is what has worked for me, and for the women I have coached since. I would love to share it with you.
